The sun is setting here in Houghton It may not rise again tomorrow But I know that some day -- when the time is right It shall pierce the dark gray clouds That blanket my life and my world.
A note on my poems
I write for no man or woman
I write for no rhyme scheme
or for any other scheme for that matter
I write to feel when I feel like writing
Words flow and emotions rise
And if at the end of the night they remain
I continue to write
I pour my soul into these short stanzas
And in return they remove my sorrow
Remove me from the darkest emotions
And let me relive the brightest
By putting them here
I give myself a reason to write
The workings of my head
And record them for my enjoyment
I do not mean to be selfish here
But that is why I write
Not for you
Not for anyone
But to express the emotions
To express myself
In a way I know
